Range of intergenerational experiences for sharing

Following on from the recent opening of the Olga Picasso exhibition, the Museo Picasso Málaga is offering a range of intergenerational experiences for sharing, learning and creating together with the support of educationalists from the museum. A special day for families and adults to discover, enjoy and learn about art in the company of others. In addition, the Museo Picasso Málaga has organised a mid-morning intergenerational encounter in which memory, recollections, the family and staying in a place will be some of the subjects addressed by a group of university students and groups of older people from active ageing centres.

Activities are free with the price of admission, which is always free for children. No need to register for family workshops. Register for the adult activities, from 10.00am at the ticket desk.

FAMILY WORKSHOPS

Constructing Acrobatics From 10.00 am to 2.00 pm without a break The acrobats, circus tamers and tumblers in the works on display provide the inspiration for creating imaginary characters from assorted materials such as thin and thick card, wood and string.

Paper Fancy Dress Family workshop From 10.00 am to 2.00 pm without a break Picasso produced portraits of his wife and son wearing beautiful ballerina, harlequin and clown outfits. After looking at some of these portraits, families will decide how they would like to be portrayed and will create various garments out of paper in a range of textures.

In Letters Family workshop From 10.00 am to 2.00 pm without a break Nowadays, messages are rarely sent on paper. Many participants may never have conducted any kind of relationship by post. In this activity, we propose to write or perhaps draw messages on paper, think of a recipient and send them a letter!

ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS

Print Proofs
From 11.30 am to 1.30 pm A space for artistic experimentation aimed at adults, providing an opportunity for discovering in a hands-on manner the chalcographic techniques used in Picasso’s work.

Conversations in Olga Picasso 12.00 midday An occasion for visitors to observe, discuss and reflect in the framework of the Olga Picasso exhibition, which puts in perspective the making of some of Picasso’s great works and reconstructs this process of production in the context of a personal history that ran parallel to another political and social history.
