Collage workshop with Lara Lars

The collage technique, which Picasso used recurringly and which subsequently had a considerable impact, is present in some artworks of the exhibition The Echo of Picasso exhibition. In this connection, the Museo Picasso Málaga is hosting a collage workshop in conjunction with Lara Lars, an artist specialising in this technique who has collaborated on designs for brands such as Vogue and Vanity Fair Spain, publishers such as Anagrama and campaigns for the Ministry of Equality.

The workshop consists of an initial theoretical and inspirational part, where the impact of Picasso (and other artists) on the world of collage is discussed, as well as its different forms of application. Participants then get to experiment with different ways of approaching the blank sheet of paper through image and concept by completing a series of practical exercises. Application of the collage technique underlines the importance of images when used in illustration.

No previous knowledge is required. Materials are provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own cuttings, magazines and other paper materials in order to personalise the result.
