CORRESPONDENCE PROJECT
April 1June 30, 2019
On the occasion of ‘Olga Picasso’
Many youngsters may not have received or written a letter for a long time – or perhaps even never. Technology has made the immediate exchange of information possible and is making the use of postal correspondence, as it was understood until the early 21st century, unnecessary. Museo Picasso Málaga’s current exhibition, Olga Picasso, displays many of the letters that the artist’s first wife exchanged with her family, and which were discovered inside her travel chest along with photographs and other objects.
From April to June, pupils from the 1st year of Secondary Education at Colegio Rosario Moreno, in Málaga, and from the Young Historians Club of the Pushkin Art Museum in Moscow will be taking part in the correspondence project, which will examine this form of communication, so unfamiliar to adolescents today. The participants will get to know the work of Pablo Picasso and will exchange information and illustrations on it.
