On the occasion of the Bruce Nauman exhibition
Tickets available here and at the museum box office.
Following the success of its previous editions, this year Museo Picasso Málaga is once again organizing a summer cinema cycle. It offers a chance to explore the exhibition Bruce Nauman. Rooms, bodies, words, and afterwards attend the screening in the museum gardens of a film linked to some of the themes that interest Nauman, such as the world of the American cowboy or the relationship between the body and space. The evening begins at 9.00pm with a free visit to the exhibition, followed by the film screening in the MPM garden (in English with Spanish subtitles).
Dogville (2003), by Danish director Lars Von Trier, tells the story of Grace Mulligan (Nicole Kidman), a woman who arrives in the remote village of Dogville to escape from a gangster mob. Persuaded by the words of Tom (Paul Bettany), who appoints himself community spokesman, the villagers agree to hide her. In exchange, Grace has to work for them. However, when Dogville become the object of intense police vigilance in an attempt find the fugitive, the villagers demand other services from Grace to compensate for the danger they are in for providing refuge. Grace learns in a brutal manner that kindness, in this village, is highly relative. But she has a secret she does not want to reveal. This is the first in Von Trier’s United States: land of opportunities trilogy and it competed in the official selection of the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.
The price of this activity is 10€ per person and it includes admission to the exhibition and a drink at the MPM café. A limited number of places are available.
