By land, sea and air
29March 31, 2021
Easter Workshop
Miquel Barceló made the places he lived in and visited his own. Places where light, dust, air, soil and water served as his inspiration. Pictures that emulate the great cave paintings, ceramics, seascapes, bison, bulls, fish… all these and more inundate the exhibition rooms where the youngsters will work each day. Clay, paint, watercolours, charcoal, collage, ceramics… don’t miss it!
Over three days, the workshop participants will be able to travel the world though Miquel Barceló’s work. Each day, one of the three elements - land, sea and air - will be the transversal themes of the museum activities.
On Monday we will be starting with the sea. Bright and happy, stormy and nocturnal, seascapes will be the starting point for discussing and creating seas and oceans full of sea creatures, both real and imaginary.
On Tuesday, cave art, stone and clay will be the star features of the day. We will go back to pre-historic times, getting to know all about the paintings that were made by our ancestors. We will paint inside caves, and work with clay.
Finally, on Wednesday, we will be working on things you cannot see, gestures, and movements in the air, and our bodies will be the protagonists. Our own movements in the air will give us ideas for drawings on paper, shapes on clay and drawings with light.
