Christmas holiday art and creativity workshop for children aged from 4 to 11.
Prints, collages, surprising materials and amusing characters inhabit the rooms of The Echo of Picasso, an exhibition that takes a look at Pablo Picasso’s influence on contemporary artists. In connection with this show, we are offering children the opportunity to have fun working with different materials and techniques during three mornings devoted to artistic creation.
On the first day, which focuses on volume, participants experiment with all kinds of materials after examining works by artists such as Picasso, Louise Bourgeois, Miquel Barceló, Thomas Houseago and Jeff Koons, among others. They get to play and create with plaster and paper while exploring the creative possibilities of everyday objects.
On the second day, the workshop concentrates on printmaking techniques. Painting and collage combine to create textures and patterns that participants reproduce on different supports, drawing inspiration from works by Marina Faust, Jorge Galindo, Picasso himself and other artists featured in the exhibition.
On the last day, the children search for amusing characters in the Museum galleries, whom they then reinterpret in their own creations using the techniques explored on the previous days. To mark the end of these three days’ work at the Museum, participants become the curators of their own exhibitions.
