«Engraved in Verse» exhibition at the Instituto Cervantes in Paris

Oct 5 —— Nov 5, 2023

The Instituto Cervantes in Paris presents the Engraved in Verse exhibition as part of the Picasso Celebration 1973–2023.

Since 2004, the Museo Picasso Málaga has run an art and social participation programme for all audiences aimed at promoting the effective inclusion and real accessibility of everyone to art and culture.

Engraved in Verse has been designed as part of this programme: a project of joint creation in which 330 participants convert fifteen poems written by Picasso between 1935 and 1959 into a collective visual story using printmaking techniques such as drypoint and linocut. Engraved in Verse is an amalgam of graphic art composed of words and images in the form of eleven panels that include the prints made by the participants together with labels displaying the poems by Picasso that inspire the compositions.

This show is part of the activities organised by the Instituto Cervantes in Paris to mark the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
