Exquisite corpse
November 1December 31, 2017
Exhibition
To coincide with the exhibition We are Completely Free. Women Artists and Surrealism, Museo Picasso Málaga is inviting collectives of children and youngsters in situations of social vulnerability to take part in a project whose purpose is to provide them with access to art, and to use it as an additional tool for social inclusion.
After their visit to the exhibition rooms, where they will be able to view a selection of the works brought together for the exhibition, the pupils will help to create an “exquisite corpse”. This technique, which was highly popular among the Surrealists, involved a group of people writing or drawing a composition in sequence, after reading or simply seeing the end of what the previous player has done. The resulting work, according to poets such as Nicolas Calas, reveals the unconscious reality of the group that created it.
