Lecture in French The methods Pablo Picasso used to make sculptures from 1954 and the valuable contribution received by the artisans of Vallauris were some of the topics that Diana Widmaier Picasso spoke about in her lecture Picasso’s cut sheet-metal sculptures: newly released information on the artist’s collaboration with the artisan metalwork.
Art historian brought different documents and unpublished testimonies to illustrate her explanations. Thus, she stressed the importance of collaborative work between the Andalusian artist and Joseph-Marius Tiola, an excellent blacksmith little known to the general public.
