On the occasion of “Face to Face. Picasso and the Old Masters”
Based on the exhibition Face to Face. Picasso and the Old Masters, Museo Picasso Málaga has organized a programme of talks with specialist art historians. The first of these sessions is Reviewing the Spanish Tradition, in which experts in Art History will look at the connections Pablo Picasso established with the Old Masters - artists such as El Greco or Francisco de Zurbarán who were modern two or three centuries before he was himself.
The talks will also examine the artistic particularities of Spanish Mannerism and its relationship to the Málaga-born artist. The session is structured in the form of short papers followed by a round table where participants can share opinions and examine how the MPM exhibition has dealt with these issues.
