Explore the life and work of Jackson Pollock

Museo Picasso Málaga organized the last evening devoted to exploring the life and work of Jackson Pollock, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

The programme began at 9pm with a visit to the exhibition Jackson Pollock’s Mural. Energy Made Visible, which was then running at MPM. It included an introduction by the museum’s Education Department team, who will provide visitors with some insight into the key features of this artist’s work.

Then, at 10pm in the museum garden, there was a screening of the film Pollock, produced and directed in 2000 by Ed Harris, who also plays the title role. Set in the artist’s early days in 1940s New York, the film tells of how Pollock went from being an unknown painter to one of the great artists of his time, and how he and his close circle experienced this process. The film also features Marcia Gay Harden (whose portrayal of Lee Krasner earned her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress), Val Kilmer and Amy Madigan.

Price included the exhibition, the film screening and one drink (beer or non-alcoholic beverage).

Sponsored by CaixaBank and in collaboration with Delta Air Lines.
