The drawer of the subconscious

To coincide with the exhibition We are Completely Free. Women Artists and Surrealism, Museo Picasso Málaga is organizing an activity that is specially designed for Malaga-based collectives of women in situations of social vulnerability.

Aimed at showing art by the women artists selected for the exhibition to visitors who are particularly sensitive to the subjects dealt with in their work, the visit will start with a guided tour of the exhibition, where participants will discover a selection of works in which symbolism and metaphor have a strong presence.

Afterwards, in the workshop area, and with the help of a drawer containing different objects such as eggs, seashells, flowers, hair, feathers and mirrors, they will be able to compose their own “Surrealist” picture, playing with meanings, shapes and art. The objects they create in the workshop will be put on public display on 16th December, coinciding with a week devoted to womanhood and a programme of meetings and activities based on the theme.
