Under Construction. Easter Workshops
Apr 14 —— 16, 2025
For three days, the Easter 2025 workshops revolve around the work of Picasso and the South African artist William Kentridge.
The Cubist language enabled Picasso to represent fragmented reality from multiple angles. Many of the works featured in Pablo Picasso: Structures of Invention. The Unity of a Life’s Work and Picasso: The Royan Sketchbooks are the main focus of these workshops, which explore the idea of fragmentation and movement through different artistic genres.
During these activities the children get to work with very different artistic techniques such as drawing, collage, sculpture and painting. The first day is devoted to one of the genres most powerfully present in Picasso’s works: portraiture. They will explore the many variations of the human face using techniques that combine drawing and sculpture to multiply the possibilities of representation, going beyond a single plane. Tempera, crayons, scissors, glue and different kinds of paper are ready and waiting!
On the second day they examine mythological creatures, animals and strange people on the walls of the Museum’s galleries. They will all come to life through activities related to modelling and puzzles.
Finally, on the last day participants will visit the William Kentridge exhibition More Sweetly Play the Dance, a spectacular video installation nearly forty metres long that presents an infinite procession of moving figures,
It is possible to register for all three days or single days of the Museo Picasso Málaga’s Easter workshops. A 20% discount is applicable for each additional sibling.
