While Spanish museums are currently facing a downtrend, Museo Picasso Málaga has seen a 4.7% increase in the number of visitors who came to the gallery in 2013. The reasons behind this figure include the outstanding programme of exhibitions and activities that have been held to celebrate the museum&acute";“s 10th anniversary, the increase in the number of travellers in Malaga province and the Costa del Sol, and the organization&rsquo”;"s greater efforts at promotion.

The exhibitions held to commemorate the anniversary - Picasso of Málaga. Earliest Works in the spring, Pablo Picasso. Family Album over the summer, and Eleven Invited Works in the autumn and winter-, along with the Open 24 Hours event on 26th and 27th October, all drew in people from Malaga, and this enabled the museum to improve its visitor numbers. Dennis Hopper. On the Road, and Hilma af Klint. Pioneer of Abstraction completed an exhibition programme enjoyed by 406,465 visitors to gallery throughout 2013.

Institutional collaboration. For its programme of cultural and educational activities, Museo Picasso Málaga intensified its collaboration with local cultural organizations such as Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga";" Universidad de Málaga";" Centro de Estudios Hispano Marroquí";" Adis Meridianos";" Asociación de Amigos del Museo Arqueológico y de Bellas Artes de Málaga";" Asociación Centro Histórico de Málaga";" Asociación de Artistas Plásticos de Málaga (APLAMA)“;” Apertura school of photography";" FNAC Málaga";" Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga";" Malaga City Council&acute";"s Department of Accessibility and its Department of Citizen Participation, Immigration and Development Cooperation.

It did the same with Andalusian regional organizations such as the Junta de Andalucía&acute";“s Council for Equality and Social Welfare”;" with Centro Andaluz de las Letras";" UNIA, and Fundación C. Heeren de Arte Flamenco, and with national cultural organizations (Obra Social La Caixa";" Aecid";" the Spanish Embassy in Rabat";" the Swedish Embassy in Spain and the Instituto Cervantes in Tangiers), and international ones (the French Institute in Tangiers and the Cinémat&egrave";"que de Tanger).
