Intaglio printmaking workshop: drypoint
Nov 28, 2024
Intaglio printmaking workshops for adults.
Pablo Picasso produced more than two thousand graphic works throughout his lifetime. Both the volume of this output and the variety of techniques he mastered make him one of the most productive printmakers in history. He executed his first print at the age of eighteen and continued to produce them until the year before his death.
Intaglio is the most common printmaking technique employed by artists. The variant examined in this workshop is drypoint, where the metal plate or matrix is incised directly using a sharp point. Participants will then reproduce their print by means of the usual process of inking, cleaning and printing in an intaglio press.
Artists from Dürer to Rembrandt and from Goya to Picasso have employed this technique, updating it and exploring its many possibilities.
The price of the workshop includes admission to the Museum, a guided tour of the collection and all the materials: zinc plate, etching needles, paper, rollers.
