Drawing workshop with Emmanuel Lafont

In connection with the exhibition Picasso. The Royan Sketchbooks, the Museo Picasso Málaga is holding this workshop which is designed to encourage close observation of the surroundings and drawing as a means of personal reflection. Inspired by Picasso’s practice and his use of sketchbooks as spaces for experimentation, the participants will each create their own artist’s book based on their experience during the workshop.

Over the course of two sessions, participants will explore different drawing techniques, constructing an artist’s sketchbook using drawing as a means of reflection. The workshop is aimed at people with any level of skills, and no previous experience is required.

The workshop will be taught by Emmanuel Lafont, a visual artist who has pursued a prolific career in the fields of drawing, engraving and sculpture, besides experimenting with installation and video. His work, which is markedly autobiographical, explores creative processes and the influence of the environment on artistic expression. He has collaborated with prestigious design and architecture studios, besides delivering lectures at various educational and artistic institutions.
