SDG 14: Life below Water
Jun 28, 2023
‘Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources’ is the subject of Sustainable Development Goal number 14 (SDG 14).
‘Life below Water’ is the theme of Sustainable Development Goal number 14 (SDG 14). It states that protecting our oceans needs to continue to be a priority because, among other reasons, their biodiversity is essential to the health of people and the planet.
This talk is given by Antonio Tovar Sánchez, a scientist from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas who conducts his research at the Instituto de Ciencias Marinas de Andalucía as leader of the Marine Chemistry laboratory. Starting with an overall analysis of the current circumstances, he addresses issues such as the situation in the Antarctic and how it affects our oceans; the impact of tourism and emerging pollutants in our seas; and new technologies for studying and conserving them through drones.
